Derby Owners Club is much more than horse racing and as a result is has a cult following in the US that is still growing. This game has been seen as a 4 player game but many of the machines that first came to the US were in the 8 player configuration. There is a huge screen that all the players watch during the race, but you sit at a terminal in which you do all of your training.

This game is quite involved; you are in charge of your horse from training to feeding as well as during race time. You can also breed your horses to make stronger and faster race horses. All of the information is stored on cards, and you can get them from the machine since they have little card vendors on each terminal. This game has become a huge hobby for many players, many of these DOC fans have a stable of horses that they continually add to and improve.

The interesting thing about this game is that World Edition is actually the English version of the first DOC. In Japan, they have been playing DOC 2 for a few years now and that version has better graphics and a few extras added into the fold.

DOC is one of the most loved games to come out in the past few years and its popularity is still increasing.
